Most Serene Congress recorded this track on a blustery autumn afternoon outside the Lair of Congress under socially distanced settings. We set out to improvise a long drone under two constraints: to anchor the piece around F#, and to transition from complete silence to ultimate volume as slowly as possible. It became immediately apparent that the drone evolved in response to the sounds of wind gusting through the trees, sending the golden leaves on their final journey — sounds that we haven't included in this recording. Consequently, we encourage listeners to let their own environmental sounds suffuse through the playback of this track, and not to worry about the relative quiet of its first part.
